I’m delighted to be able to share some very special news with you this Friday. I’ll be photographing Annie & Simon’s wedding in a few weeks and I was fortunate enough to be asked to document their Henna Party at the Eden Hall in the West Island.

During pre-wedding Henna Parties, the grandmother smudges henna in the palm of the bride and groom to symbolically bestow the new couple with good health, fertility, wisdom, and security. The henna is believed in Moroccan tradition to protect the couple from demons.

The reception was packed with family and close friends, great food and a live band! All of the guests were mainly on the dance floor throughout the night and whenever I thought the party was going to die down, it would start all over again. Annie’s father made it his mission to grab everyone out of their seats and enjoy the celebration. I was told that this was a little preview of what to expect for the wedding where they will have 300 guests!

Annie & Simon and their families were so warm and friendly, and it was such a pleasure to photograph them! Enjoy a glimpse into this stunning evening! Looking forward to their wedding!
